Infrared remote control - 06/96 NOTE: Infrared emitter can be seen at front edge of key. System operation System LED location: Rear fog lamp switch. Pressing key button locks vehicle and activates alarm. Horn sounds briefly to confirm alarm activation. Pressing key button again unlocks vehicle and deactivates alarm. Infrared receiver (located in 'B' pillar on both sides). Holding key lock button in depressed position closes windows and sunroof. Interior movement sensors deactivation switch located in 'B' pillar. Interior lamps switched off when arming system. Interior lamps with switch set to 'door operation' illuminate when disarming system. If system LED illuminates for 30 seconds when locking vehicle: Check interior movement sensors. Alarm/central locking functions can be altered using diagnostic equipment. Synchronization When Key buttons operated repeatedly while vehicle out of range and system becomes inoperative. If vehicle not used for approximately 7 days or more, remote operation is deactivated. Key batteries replaced. How Point key at receiver (located in 'B' pillar on both sides). Press lock/unlock button. Manually unlock vehicle within 1 minute. System should now lock or unlock vehicle. If not, carry out programming procedure. Programming When Key added or replaced. System malfunction. How NOTE: A maximum of 4 keys can be programmed (one at a time). As memory positions of existing keys are unlikely to be known: Obtain and program all keys. Switch ignition ON. NOTE: Use key that is not fitted with remote control. Manually lock vehicle using key. Complete the following within 30 seconds, one key at a time: Point key to be programmed at receiver. Located in 'B' pillar on both sides. Within 5 seconds press lock/unlock button on each key 1-4 times at intervals of at least 1 second: Once for memory position 1 (first key). Twice for memory position 2 (second key). Three times for memory position 3 (third key). Four times for memory position 4 (fourth key). Alarm horn sounds each time button is pressed, to indicate signal received. After programming last key, wait 5 seconds. Press lock/unlock button once to confirm programming.
